Pitchers in Dominican league receive 50-game suspensions

New York.– Two pitchers from the Dominican Summer League have been suspended 50 games each for violating baseball’s drug policy.

Left-hander Francisco Vizcaino of the Tampa Bay Rays organization and righty Saulo Alcantara of the Baltimore Orioles organization tested positive for performance-enhancing substances.

Vizcaino had metabolites of the steroid Stanozolol in his system and Alcantara had an estrogen suppressant, which is a sign of steroid use.
